  Final Destination 4 releasing Date

Final Destination 4 or known as he Final Destination was released on 28 August 2009 in United States of America.

Final Destination 4

Director and Writers:

This film was directed by David R. Ellis though the script was done by Eric Bress. This is the fourth movie in the Final Destination series, which is mind-boggling with every film showing how people die in the most grisly manner.

Plot Summary:

The Final Destination is set in the same vein that has been followed by the Final Destination series where a group of people manage to evade a disaster just as they would had been crushed in the accident and then Death begins to stalk them.

The plot focuses on the main character of the film, Nick O’Bannon, who along with his girlfriend, Lori Milligan and friends Hunt and Janet attends car race event in McKinley Speedway. Nick had a vision on how several calamities occur which results to a gigantic car wreck followed by a sickening domino effect of victims that even all the people watching in the stand are dead on the field. Nick, frightened to the bone, shares the word with his friends and other several spectators and all of them are able to flee the stadium and thus save their lives.

But Death is intolerant to everyone who tries to trick him. Later, the survivors come to the conclusion of being chased by Death and as days passes they start dropping dead in the same order as it was shown in Nick’s vision. Nick, starts trying to solve the puzzle and starts trying to outwit the grim reaper on who gets to die next. He, in particular, gets even more destructive for his friends and trying to escape from Death seeking to become free before Death kills everyone.

The remaining people are depicted with awful and complicated endings – the woman dies in the hair salon, the second scene portrays a woman who drowns in a swimming pool and the last scene shows how a couple dies in a car wash. Every death is an extremely painful announcement to people that no amount of efforts made by them, can defy the design of Death.

Nick and Lori try to snap the chain and in the process they begin to understand that maybe it is impossible to escape what has been predetermined for them. The last scene of the movie revolves around the shooting in which Nick gets another vision and tries his best to prevent Death from finishing its work, but the final scene shows that Death was never stopped from doing its work.

Themes and Atmosphere:

As it is common with the films in the franchise, The Final Destination remains thematic in the concepts of predestination, death, and mortality. As usual for the series based on the books of Rushdie, heavy emphasis is made of suspenseful build-ups to each death scene as the characters try to avoid their destiny in vain.

Although it does not belong to the category of psychological horror, it can be credited for original methods of their murderous kills and certain degree of black humor in it’s special effects.

 Impact on Horror Genre:

Even though, Final Destination 4 didn’t bring drastic changes to the previous films, the fact that this film was made in 3D added that extra dimension to the death sequences. The success which this film had at the box office ensured that the franchise would carry on to spawn more sequels.
