The final destination 5 (2011) Movie Explained In English

 Plot Overview:

Final Destination 5 is a Fivequel of the Final Destination series released in 2011. Like the previous films, it revolves around the same central theme: people who try to dodge or fail to pay Death its due when they only survive a disaster only to be pursued by Death. Still, this one presents a highly creative link to the first movie, and the final moment gives a shiver.

The final destination 5 (2011)

Opening Disaster - The Bridge Collapse:Opening Disaster - The Bridge Collapse:

The movie opens with a group of workers who set off in a bus for a team building exercise camping trip. There is a pivotal scene in which young man by the name Sam Lawton portrayed by Nicholas D’Agosto is on a bus crossing a large suspension bridge. In his dream, the bridge tumbles down with a horrible sound, with all who were on the bridge including his girlfriend Molly, his best friend Peter and his boss Dennis.

Getting afraid by such a realistic vision, Sam screams and asks everyone on the bus to get out. He is able to rescue several of his colleagues before the ‘accident’ actually happens, as he knew it would. But once again, those people are wrong thinking that they escaped Death’s plan and learn, as did the characters of all the previous films, that they are still doomed and death will find them in the most brutal way possible.

 Death's Return:

After the fall of the bridge they believe they’ve escaped death, this is seen in Sam and the others. But soon federal Bureau of Investigation agent Jim Block (Courtney B. Vance) starts suspecting that something sinister is going on with the group. The survivors are soon forty-one, who die in bizarre accidents that are somehow associated with Death’s relentless activities.

In this case, however, another character in the series – a mortician, William Bludworth, portrayed by Tony Todd – provides the harassed survivors with the clue on how the cycle can be stopped – by killing a complete stranger. As such, if they murder a man, they take the rest of his days, thus evading Death’s design.

The Group of Survivors:

  •  Sam Lawton (Nicholas D'Agosto): The main character of the series through which the story is narrated, fate a chef who has the first vision of the collapsing bridge.
  • Nina and Joshua
  • Another character who is revealed to also have visions at the start of the series and serves as on of the main female protagonists.
  •  Molly Harper (Emma Bell): A survivor of the first catastrophe, Sam’s girlfriend is also dragged by Death across the TV series.
  •  Peter Friedkin (Miles Fisher): A best friend of Sam who makes Sam much worried and paranoid as others start dying and it result in fights.
  •  Candice Hooper (Ellen Wroe): He has an athletic girlfriend who is a gymnast that meets one of the movies most famous gory ends.
  •  Olivia Castle (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood): A further co-employee who avoids the bridge blast but ends up in deadly circumstances during a simple eye surgery.
  •  Nathan Sears (Arlen Escarpeta): Another survivor who is employed at a factory experience hopelessness and feels the need to free himself from his approaching demise.
  •  Dennis Lapman (David Koechner): Sam’s boss, a man who hardly has warm relationship with words and barely gets a clue about the other-worldly machinations.

Twists and Death Scenes:

Hopping thus one by one, the members of the party meet their gory end. The Final Destination 5 death scenes are visually smart and stylish, and once again make great use of suspense and misleading information to determine when and how each character will meet their maker.

  •  The accident in gymnastics is one of the most nerve-wracking and the unpredictable sequence that ends in a death of a character and it is with Candice.
  •  Olivia’s death entails laser eye surgery gone wrong and could be regarded as one of the most effective and evilest throughout the series.
  •  Nathan kills one of his co-workers in a factory incident by falling and then comes to the false belief that he has taken the man’s lifespan onto himself. But even in such a case, he is to discover shortly that Death’s design is not quite as simple as all that.

The Final Twist:

When the movie is nearing its ending, Sam and Molly seem to have outsmarted Death. They decide to have a fresh begin a new life together and they head to the airport to take a flight to Paris. However, the shocking twist is revealed: This is the flight that was in the first Final Destination movie, it is the Flight 180. The plane blows up mid-air and takes Sam and Molly with it thus bringing Final Destination 5 back to the roots in FD 1; this brought a loop in the whole FD movie.

However, Nathan’s destiny is already doomed as a part from the Flight 180, flies and hits him in the bar where he is ‘celebrating’.

 Conclusion:

Final Destination 5 is really where the creativity for death scenes in this series seems to kick it up a notch and it gains quite a bonus points for the plot twist tying it in to the first movie. This is captured well by the plot of the movie, as it seeks to implement the theme of predestination and the possibility of avoiding one’s preordained death while keeping the fight, suspense, horror, and irony that audiences of the series might assess.
